One can argue that Deadpool can be considered a tragic hero. As he led himself to his own demise. Seen as a killer, psychotic in nature with zero normality whatsoever. He was able to challenge the traditional superhero narrative as he didn’t view himself as one. He is flawed, the arrogance that often accompanies his greatness and suffers a flawed whereby how he should have handled things from the beginning. Described as someone who had his own sets of beliefs and selfish. A byrnoic hero to most as this was triggered by the death of his fiancée.
If you are a fan of Marvel or the DC franchise and prefer a movie that has a very unusual plot twist but not shocking. I highly recommend you watch Deadpool 2 which is continuous from Deadpool 1.
Compared to Deadpool 1, it is one of the movies that has my emotions running everywhere; amazed, saddened, and happy. It is very rare to watch a sequel that can live up to its highly anticipated expectation. Although the climax sequence can seem or get a bit dragging to certain viewers. The chemistry between the cast is insane and referencing is up to par. I suggest one watches it in 3D or IMAX experience as the visual quality is great, top notch to be specific, as it feels like one is in the actual scenes.
The use of action and comedy in the different scenes was appropriate as they blended harmonylessly from the first scene down to the last scene. The main character, Ryan Reynolds was very remarkable being able to be humorous, sacarstic and violent in an egomatic manner when tuning into his different ego’s. Does it with such ease and brilliance. I was quite surprised and impressed by Zazie Beetz who plays Domino, as she decided to use her abilities for good after working with Cable for some time. The old X man coming back together except for Wolverine and the new recruits jelled perfectly.
Most of the cast members haven’t been in major movies but they were able to prove that they are fully deserving of being part of the Marvel franchise. The various scenes were shot across Vancouver, Canada. The costumes and use of make-up for the cast was very detailed and realistic as described in the novel. The cinematography was a variety ranging from side views, close-ups views, top-down views and mise en scene views. The soundtracks consist of fourteen songs in different genres situable for that specific scene or moment. Special effects are one of a kind, exceeded those from Deadpool 1. But others might disagree and say they were very average.
I give the film an overall solid 4.5 out of 5. It was close to great. It is r Rated for strong language, violence and shows a scene with a brief of drug material, regarding as PG 13. I honestly cannot wait for Deadpool 3 which is coming out in 2024, will it be better that 2, or average or just be a complete flop, who knows.
